The founder of the Portuguese brand Siennainspo was born in Lisboa, raised by two professional seamstresses who shared a name, Maria, and a passion for tailoring — they were her grandmothers. Growing up beside them shaped the way she looks at clothes and at fashion in general. She inherited their meticulous work ethic and their love of detail. There is something special about creating a piece with your own hands. 'Siennainspo started as a hobby and now it is my full-time job. When I look back to a time when I used to sit on one of my grandmothers' laps, I realized that this was what I was always meant to do,' says the founder of the Portuguese brand Siennainspo. Siennainspo believes in the singularity of small-scale production and in pieces that last. The brand is always looking for fabrics and details that set its pieces apart. It does not follow a trend, but there is one thing it always aims at — making clothes in which women feel comfortable and confident in themselves. 'Because, in the end, more than picking me up in their arms, my grandmothers taught me that there is nothing more beautiful than a woman being herself, comfortable in her perfect imperfection.'
