Sobre Água do Fastio

Água do Fastio is a natural mineral water that rises in the Nossa Senhora do Fastio cave, in Terras de Bouro, at the heart of the Serra do Gerês. The spring was already known and recommended by doctors as far back as 1918, the year the first bottling workshop was built there; in 1920 the French chemist Charles Lepierre described it as "a markedly hyposaline and very pure mineral water". Extraction and bottling under the Fastio name, today the anchor of Grupo Areeiro, began in 1979. Drawn from deep aquifers protected by state-supervised protection perimeters, the water is 100% pure, with no treatment and no added chemicals, and is bottled at the point of extraction itself. Low in dissolved salts, lightly silicated and low in sodium, it is a light water — cleansing, easy on the digestion and mildly diuretic — available in formats from 6 liters down to 0.33 liters, including the Fastio Go line, made for sport, and Fastio Kids, aimed at children. The brand has an investment of around €300,000 under way, supported by Compete 2030 and the PRR, focused on environmentally more efficient packaging and on energy efficiency improvements in production.
