Black Pig is a Portuguese brand born of its founder Miguel Ângelo Nunes's love of and dedication to the Alentejo and its rich ecosystem. Since 2007 the brand has devoted itself to producing medronho brandy, planting strawberry trees along the Alentejo coast. In 2018 the distillery was built in Santo André, where wild botanicals are gathered for the production of gin. The brand follows a sustainable cycle, returning the botanicals to nature after distillation, to fertilize the land or feed animals. Harvesting is done by hand, and the botanicals are fermented and distilled in artisanal copper stills, which gives them their distinctive fragrances. Bottling is likewise done by hand, safeguarding the quality of the product. At Black Pig everything is transformed and nothing is lost, reflecting a deep respect for nature and for Alentejo traditions.
