CardsLab Games is a Portuguese board-game startup set on shaking up the market for educational and general-knowledge games. The brand was born in 2016 out of its entry to the Novabase Gameshifters event, where it presented its first game — CardsLab: Países — and took third place. Before reaching the shelves, the game was tested in schools and in a range of play settings, with the feedback gathered feeding successive improvements. The first print runs launched in 2017 and sold out quickly. The brand gained international visibility through its presence at Web Summit. In 2018 the game gained new mechanics and a complete redesign, culminating in the production of the 3rd Edition and in reaching FNAC stores. Today CardsLab games are a popular choice for playing as a family, among friends or in the classroom — turning knowledge into a fun and engaging experience, made in Portugal.
