Essências de Portugal is a Portuguese perfumery brand for body and home, created in 2017 by Longlife – Saboaria Artesanal Portuguesa, a maker of soaps, candles and diffusers based in Torres Novas. Each collection is born in partnership with local producers, combining wood, cork, natural essences and Portuguese craftsmanship. The Canto IX collection, for instance, draws on Canto IX of Os Lusíadas and brings together five fragrances based on Portuguese fruit trees — pomegranate, pear, peach, cherry and orange — lifted by spices such as ginger, cardamom, black pepper, sandalwood and clove, in a nod to the old Portuguese sea routes. Other collections, such as Azulejos de Portugal, Saudade and Viver Portugal, follow the same thread: genuinely Portuguese themes and materials translated into soaps, scented candles, diffusers and creams. More than hygiene and cosmetics products, the brand positions itself as decorative object and keepsake — pieces of art, "timeless souvenirs" — sold also through a network of partners and distributors in markets such as Angola, Singapore and Japan.
