Lazuli is a women's footwear brand founded in 2014 in Santa Maria da Feira, at the heart of the region with the strongest shoemaking tradition in the country. The starting point was the Portuguese azulejo tile: the first collections translated tile patterns straight onto the shoes and, over time, that heritage became a subtler presence, suggested in the color and the cut rather than reproduced literally. Since 2020 no model has used any material of animal origin. The brand works with apple and pineapple leather (Piñatex), cork, bamboo, natural rubber, recycled cotton and recycled plastic, and uses no PVC. The range runs from espadrilles and sneakers to sandals, boots and barefoot models, including children's footwear. Manufacturing is entirely Portuguese: most pairs come out of the brand's own factory in Santa Maria da Feira and the rest from Portuguese partners, almost always within a 30-kilometer radius — a deliberate choice to shorten transport. Lazuli belongs to Shoelutions, a certified B Corp since 2024, and builds its production on respect for workers and fair working conditions.
