Oitava Colina is a craft brewery in Lisboa, brewing since 2015. The name comes from a curiosity of the city's history: in the seventeenth century the friar Nicolau de Oliveira left the hill of Graça out of his count of the seven hills of Lisboa, and it is that forgotten hill — the eighth — that gives the brand its name. Production started in Graça and, in 2021, moved to a larger plant in Cabo Ruivo, where the brewery also opened a taproom with ten taps and a terrace, the beer reaching the glass straight from the fermentation tanks. The first space, on Rua Damasceno Monteiro, stayed open and remains a fixture of the Graça neighborhood, likewise with ten taps and a view over the city. After a decade in business the catalog has run through dozens of recipes, taking in classic styles, seasonal editions and collaborations with other breweries. Distribution covers the whole country and the brand exports to several international markets, while keeping both the brewing and the public-facing spaces in Lisboa.
