Quinta do Vallado, built in 1716, is one of the oldest and most famous estates in the Vale do Douro. Once belonging to the legendary Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira and still in the hands of her descendants, this estate stretches along both banks of the Rio Corgo, near Peso da Régua. With 50 hectares of young vines and 20 hectares of century-old vines, Quinta do Vallado is recognized worldwide for the quality of its Vinhos do Douro and Vinhos do Porto. The new winery and barrel cellar, opened in 2009, combines advanced technology with excellent architecture, making it an essential stop in the Vale do Douro. Since 2005 the estate has invested in wine tourism, receiving guests at its memorable Wine Hotel.
