ROS Lisbon is a Portuguese brand of women's footwear and swimwear, created by Ana Ros. Comfort is the criterion that guides the design: every model goes through several samples and a period of real wear before entering production. «I produce as if they were for me — and they are for me», the founder sums up, testing the prototypes herself before approving them. The footwear is made in leather, with cushioned insoles and stable heels, and each model has a name of its own — Charlotte, Manuela, Antonina, Scarlet, Carminho. The product pages are unusually frank about what each shoe does and does not do, saying when a last runs above or below the usual size, or when a model is not suited to wide feet. The swimwear line works with soft knits and opaque linings with sun protection, in cuts designed to sit well. The brand sells mostly online and does not work with resellers or keep street stores. It maintains a showroom in Linda-a-Velha, in the municipality of Oeiras, open by appointment, where customers can try on the pieces on display.
