Tomelo is a Portuguese brand belonging to the company Tomelo, Eco Desenvolvimento, Lda, founded in 2006 and devoted to bringing value to the Trás-os-Montes region, above all in the municipalities of Vimioso and Miranda do Douro. It is known for its Tomelo Cleo cosmetics line, which uses the milk of jennies of the only native Portuguese donkey breed, currently under threat of extinction. The brand's mission is to bring value to the human, natural and genetic heritage of the region, promoting sustainable development and the creation of local jobs as a way of countering depopulation. The products — soaps, scrubs, creams and natural air fresheners — are made with native raw materials and sold directly across the country and abroad.
