Viarco é uma marca portuguesa de papelaria e escrita, fundada em 1907 em São João da Madeira.

Pencil manufacturing in Portugal began in 1907, in Vila do Conde, at a plant founded by Conselheiro Figueiredo Faria with the French engineer Jules Cacheux and known as Portugália. The Great Depression drove it into bankruptcy and, in 1931, it was bought by Manoel Vieira Araújo, a hat manufacturer from S. João da Madeira. In 1936 the name that would become definitive was registered — Viarco, from Vieira Araújo & Companhia — and in 1941 the factory moved to São João da Madeira, where it remains. It also remains the only pencil factory in the country. It produces graphite, colored and wax pencils, and a range of technical pencils used across a wide variety of trades, alongside drawing materials for artists. In 1990 António José Vieira Araújo developed, with the painter José Emídio, a graphite watercolor that would give rise to ArtGraf, registered as a trademark in 2007 and today distributed in international markets. In 2010 the company joined forces with ColorADD and launched the first box of pencils carrying the color identification code for the color-blind. The factory also works as a cultural venue, with artist residencies, exhibitions and industrial-tourism visits. The wood it uses follows FSC and PEFC chain-of-custody rules.
