Voke is a Portuguese swimwear brand founded in August 2014, in the Algarve, by two childhood friends united by a passion for design, for the sea and for freedom. The brand is today owned by ISVK, Lda., based in Lisboa. The range covers bikinis — sets, tops and bottoms — and one-piece swimsuits, made for confident women with a style of their own who are not afraid to stand out. The collections are produced in small runs, restocked only after each model's reception has been tested: a deliberate answer to the mass-production logic of fast fashion. The environmental side is concrete and verifiable. In its earth-friendly collections, Voke uses ECONYL® yarn (79% ECONYL, 21% elastane), regenerated from waste recovered from the ocean — above all ghost fishing nets lost or abandoned at sea — a softer fabric with twice the strength of conventional lycra. The labels are organic cotton and orders ship without plastic, in FSC-certified paper packaging. The brand is also part of the 1% For The Planet network, donating annually to non-profit organizations. The garments are made by hand by local artisans, in partnership with small companies that let the brand control the whole process, from concept to finished piece.
