Sobre Barbot

Barbot is a Portuguese paint brand, founded in Porto in 1920 by Diogo Barbot, in the parish of Santo Ildefonso. The second factory opened in 1958 in Laborim, and 1962 brought Dioplaste, which became the company's best-selling product. A fire destroyed the Santo Ildefonso factory in 1981 and, the following year, the company moved to Vila Nova de Gaia, where it remains. Its first own store opened in Évora in 1987, and in 2002 the Canelas factory came into operation, where the head office stands today. Production is split between two factories in the municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia. The range covers interior and exterior paints and varnishes, surface preparation products and color systems, aimed at both construction work and home renovation. In Portugal, the brand reaches the public through 21 of its own stores, from Norte to Sul and in the islands, supported by a broad network of specialist resellers. Outside the country, the group sells in Spain, France, Belgium, Angola and Cabo Verde.
