Sobre GRAUº Cerâmica
GRAUº Cerâmica is a ceramics studio founded in 2020 in Lisboa by Isac Coimbra and Diogo Ferreira, trained in Architecture and in Design/Visual Culture respectively. The brand was born during lockdown, when both left the companies they were working for and found in clay a way of reinventing themselves creatively. Every piece is made by hand, from the initial wedging of the clay to the final firing, which means no two come out exactly alike. The studio works stoneware in different tones — from black and white to terracotta and red — glazed and unglazed, combined with jute and rope detailing. The result is a language the founders describe as «new tribal»: geometric, minimalist and tactile. More recently, production has widened to pieces in metal. The catalog is organized into three lines: Masks, the ceramic masks the brand grew out of; Rope, which brings ceramics and rope together; and Living, with vases, bowls, candlesticks and platters for the home. The founders' training in architecture and design opened up a second territory for GRAUº: developing made-to-measure pieces and compositions for architects, interior designers and hospitality venues, among them the Rebello Hotel in Porto and the restaurants Santa Joana and Olivia in Lisboa. The brand took part in Lisbon Design Week 2024 and has collaborated with IKEA and with the furniture brand Dooq. Its own store is on Rua Nova de São Mamede, in Lisboa.
