Sugo Cork Rugs
Sugo Cork Rugs é uma marca portuguesa de mobiliário e decoração, fundada em 2017 em Santa Maria da Feira.

Sobre Sugo Cork Rugs
Sugo Cork Rugs was the first brand in the world to bring cork into traditional weaving techniques. Conceived by the designer Susana Godinho, it presented its first collection in 2017, in partnership with Amorim Cork Ventures, the business incubator and venture capital arm of Corticeira Amorim. The rugs are woven by hand in Santa Maria da Feira, under the motto "Handcrafted in Portugal to the World". The material that sets the brand apart is a cork fabric conceived specifically to be woven on a loom, developed with Corticeira Amorim and the subject of a patent application. From the cork come the properties you feel underfoot: the cellular structure does not absorb water beyond the surface, deforms under impact without damage, and holds a temperature close to that of the human body. The cork is combined with linen and with a second material, in four distinct qualities: Portuguese wool, cotton yarn, reclaimed cotton, or a blend of jersey and loop cotton. The reclaimed cotton is a by-product of large knitwear production runs — the color palette is therefore more limited, an accepted consequence of the reused raw material. The hems and the warp are linen, in its natural color. The rugs are made to measure, on mechanical looms operated by the house's own artisans, with lead times of two to twelve weeks depending on dimensions, quantities and materials. Alongside the Coleção Sugo, the brand develops exclusive collections and bespoke projects for hospitality venues and interior design.
