Valle das Corujas is a Trás-os-Montes brand of honey and regional products based in Mascarenhas, a village in the municipality of Mirandela, in the district of Bragança. The business grew out of beekeeping and that remains its center: around three hundred hives set in protected areas of Trás-os-Montes yield lavender, chestnut and wildflower honeys, alongside pollen — gathered mostly from rockrose blossom — and propolis. Around this core a wider range has grown, with extra virgin olive oil from traditional groves, almonds, vinegar and gift boxes bringing several of these products together in one package. The harvest extends into body and home care as well, in artisanal soaps, solid shampoo, balms and plaster air fresheners. Production is artisanal and done, in the company's own words, in complete respect for the local ecosystem — a way of working to the rhythm of the seasons that the brand sums up in the idea of living in nature and producing nature. Beyond the online store and its physical points of sale, it keeps a blog with recipes and suggested uses.
