Founded in 2009, Chocolataria Equador is a Portuguese brand distinguished by its vertical integration of the entire fine chocolate process, from the plantation through to the finished product. With strong ties to São Tomé and Príncipe, the company takes pride in being independent of the massive global cocoa bean trading chain. Chocolataria Equador was born of an affectionate and historical partnership between Portugal and São Tomé, with the aim of restoring the Roça de Santo António and recovering the international standing of São Tomé and Príncipe cocoa. The brand is built on the quality of Amelonado cocoa, known for its complex aromatic richness and singular sensory profile. Chocolataria Equador works the cocoa from its origin through to bean-to-bar chocolate, respecting local communities and valuing producers for the excellence of their products.
